Three Rivers Planning & Development District (TRPDD) received Rural Community Development Initiative (RCDI) grant funding through the U.S. Department of Agriculture – Rural Development in 2011 to provide technical assistance to 24 low-income municipalities located within its eight-county region. TRPDD selected the 24 municipalities because they all had a median household income below $30,000 according to the 2000 U.S. Census.

As part of the scope of work for its RCDI project, TRPDD collected information from a variety of resources in order to build asset inventories to highlight businesses, schools, churches, and other local assets within each community.
